| Brian
Bambauer- Marching |
Brian Bambauer graduated from Miami
University in Oxford, OH in 1990 with a B.M. in Music Education.
A native Ohioan, Brian began his professional career as
the Junior High Band Director and assistant marching band
director at Northmont City Schools, in Clayton, OH. He then
took a position as the Instrumental Music Coordinator for
the West Carrollton City Schools in West Carrollton, OH
from 1994-1997.
Brian's drum corps experience began with the Bluecoats from
Canton, OH in 1988. A member for three years, he played
mellophone his rookie year and was Drum Major in 1989 and
1990. Joining the instructional staff in 1991 as a visual
tech, Brian then served as visual caption head in 1993 and
1994.
Brian joined the Drum Corps International World Championship
Finalist Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps in 1997 as
a visual tech, drill designer from 1998-2000 (the corps
was a DCI finalist all three years), and began working full
time for the organization as Director of Operations in 1999.
Currently on the Carolina Crown Board of Directors, Brian
continues to write drill for numerous marching bands, indoor
percussion lines and winterguards, as well as consults and
adjudicates throughout the southeastern United States. Mr.
Bambauer is currently the principal at Rama Road Elementary
School in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District. He
is also pursuing his doctoral degree in educational leadership
at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

| Jack
Jean - Overall Effect |
Jack
Jean is currently the Associate Director of Bands at Whitewater
High School in Fayetteville, Georgia. He received his Bachelor
of Music Education and Percussion Performance degrees from
the University of Northern Iowa and post-graduate music studies
at Northwestern University.
His professional experience includes
Director of Bands at Shiloh High School ( Snellville,
GA), Director of Bands at Dunwoody High School (Dunwoody,
GA), Director of Bands at Saydel High School (Des Moines,
IA), adjunct Percussion Instructor at Drake University (Des
Moines, IA), and Rehearsal Assistant with the Des Moines
Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony.
He has performed professionally with the Des Moines Symphony
Orchestra, Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra, Chamber
Orchestra of Iowa, New Hampshire Summer Music Festival,
Des Moines Metropolitan Opera, Dekalb Symphony Orchestra,
and the Gainesville Symphony Orchestra. He is currently
a member of Tara Winds Community Band.
Mr. Jean has been a successful Marching Band and Winter
Guard show designer for over 20 years. He has written for
and/or collaborated with groups in Georgia, South Carolina,
Florida, Texas, North Carolina, Indiana and Iowa; including
finalist groups at Bands of America, Winter Guard International,
and many state level contests.
Memberships include the National Band Association, Music
Educators National Conference, Georgia Music Educators Association,
and Pi Kappa Lambda.

| Stephen
McCarthy - Music |
Stephen
McCarthy, director of bands for Social Circle City Schools
in historic Social Circle, Georgia, is a native of Waycross,
Georgia, where he graduated from Ware County High School in
1989. He attended Valdosta State University and received a
Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education in 1993. While
at Valdosta State, he was the drum major of the VSU Blazin’
Brigade Marching Band and performed in numerous performing
ensembles.
Entering his first year in Social
Circle, Mr. McCarthy’s professional experience
includes five years as the associate director of bands at
Morrow High School in Morrow, Georgia, nine years as director
of bands at Stockbridge High School, in Stockbridge, Georgia,
and two years as director of bands at Strong Rock Christian
School in Locust Grove, Georgia. Mr. McCarthy was responsible
for starting the band program at Strong Rock Christian School
and in two years, the band had grown to nearly one hundred
students. The Stockbridge High School Band under Mr. McCarthy’s
direction received superior ratings at all evaluated performances,
which included eight grand champion marching awards, and
an appearance in the National Orange Bowl Parade in Miami,
Florida. Also under Mr. McCarthy’s direction, invitational
performances for the Stockbridge Symphonic Band included
the Georgia Music Educators Association In-Service Conference
on two occasions, the University of Georgia January Music
Festival, the University of South Carolina Conductors Symposium,
the Grand National Adjudicators Invitational on two occasions,
the National Band Association Southern Division Conference,
and the Southeastern United States Concert Band Clinic.
Mr. McCarthy has served the Georgia Music Educators Association
in numerous capacities which include District 6 Instrumental
Chair and state Marching Band Chair. He has served as an
adjudicator and guest conductor throughout Georgia and South
Carolina. Mr. McCarthy has received the National Band Association
Citation of Excellence on four occasions, and was listed
in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers in 2002,
2003, 2004, and 2007. Professional affiliations include
the Georgia Music Educators Association, Music Educators
National Conference, the National Band Association, and
Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity. He is
also the director of instrumental music at Stockbridge First
Baptist Church, where his family attends. Mr. McCarthy is
married to Jennifer Hammond McCarthy and they have two children,
Joy, 5 years old, and Jack, 1 1/2 years old.

| Georgianna
Oswald - Drum Major |
Georgianna Oswald has taught numerous
drum major camps and clinics throughout the state of South
Carolina . While completing her Bachelor of Music degree
from the University of South Carolina , Ms. Oswald was one
of only three students selected to the newly founded independent
conducting institute. Ms. Oswald’s studied under accomplished
conductors including Dr. Rebecca Phillips, James Copenhaver,
and Donald Portnoy.
As a flute performer, she is also
on the board of the South Carolina Flute Society serving
as a Member at Large. Some of Ms. Oswald’s other professional
affiliations include SCMEA, Women Band Director’s
International, National Flute Association, and Sigma Alpha
Iota Professional Women’s Music Fraternity.

| C. Brian
Richardson - Color Guard |
C. Brian Richardson received his
Bachelors of Art in Dance with Emphasis in Performance and
Choreography from the University of South Carolina. His
performance experience includes dancer for Royal Caribbean
Cruise Line International, the Columbia Contemporary Performance
Group, USC Dance Company, and the Vibrations Dance Company,
where he has been a member for the past eight years, and
the last six of which he has spent as a principle dancer.
He has also trained intensively at the Alvin Ailey School
in New York City.
Brian Has also performed on stage
with Roberta Flack and Jennifer Holliday. His Color Guard
performance experience includes the Cadets Drum and Bugle
Corps (nine time DCI world champion) 2003 and the Carolina
Crown Drum and Bugle Corps 2000. Brian’s teaching
experience includes, Ridge View High School, Spring Valley
High School, Spartanburg High School, Fort Mill High School,
Boiling Springs High School, Chapin High School, Summerville
High School, Dobbyns Bennett High School, White Knoll High
School, Lexington High School, Lassiter High School, The
Cast Winter Guard, Etude Winter Guard and the The Cadets
Drum and Bugle Corps.
Presently Brian teaches dance, color
guard and choreography at various dance studios and high
schools around the State of South Carolina, North Carolina
and Georgia.

| Matthew
Wofford - Percussion |
Matthew Wofford is in his fourth
year as the Director of Percussion Studies for Spartanburg
County School District Five. Mr. Wofford was awarded a Bachelor's
of Music from the University of South Carolina in 2004.
While a student at USC, he studied percussion under Dr.
Scott Herring, Dr. Ed Nagle, and Dr. Chris Lee. He also
performed with the USC Symphonic Band, USC Symphony Orchestra,
USC Percussion Ensemble, and the USC Escola de Samba. Mr.
Wofford has also performed professionally with the South
Carolina Symphonic Chorale. Mr. Wofford was a South Carolina
Teaching Fellow at USC as well.
Before coming to District Five, Mr. Wofford was the Director
of Percussion Studies and Assistant Director of Bands for
the Colleton County School District, in Walterboro, SC.
Ensembles under Mr. Wofford's direction have won marching
band state championships, upper and lower state championships,
the SCBDA Outstanding Performance Award, indoor percussion
ensemble state championships, and Superiors at state concert
festivals. Mr. Wofford is also an active judge and clinician
across South Carolina.
Mr. Wofford is a member of the Music Educators National
Conference (MENC), South Carolina Band Directors Association
(SCBDA), and the Percussive Arts Society (PAS). He is currently
pursuing a M.Ed. in Educational Administration from the
University of South Carolina. Mr. Wofford lives in Lyman,
South Carolina with his wife, Elizabeth.
